Mary Mass

Tomorrow, our class will be helping with the Mass for Mary. Students are encouraged to bring flowers to offer at the altar. We will also be crowning Mary during the service. It will also be a Food Bank Mass.

Book reports are due on Friday.

The science project is due NEXT Friday, June 8th. I have asked students to hand in rough drafts if they want me to proofread it for them this week. This will give them enough time to correct what is needed and have their good copies ready. They will be presenting the reports and dioramas to the class The following week, starting on June 11.

Yuvraj has lost his new school vest. Please ensure that your child has brought home the right sweaters. Unfortunately, his name is not written inside, but was just bought during the uniform sale and is new.

On the topic of uniforms, we are having the annual USED UNIFORM SALE. If you have any pieces that you want to sell or donate, please drop them off in our classroom by the end of the week. If you would like the money back, please attach an envelope with your last name on it. If you wish to donate the money to the school, please write CCS on the envelope or send it blank. THANKS!!!

Western Day Tomorrow! Yee-haa!

Tomorrow is a non-uniform day to celebrate Cloverdale Rodeo this long weekend. Students also have an extra long weekend because teachers have a ProD day on Friday.

We have been working on our Science research project in class. I have given the students an outline to help them write their paragraphs. This week, has been fact finding week, using the library and classroom books to find the information needed to write the paragraphs. Next week, we will work on the first draft. I will edit their work before doing their good copy, but please read through their good copies with them.

Book report posters have also been handed out. The students are eager to start them. The summaries are short and depending on the genre of their book, each activity is different.

Please send sunscreen as we do spend time outside. With the warm weather, students are also allowed to keep water bottles at their desks. No juice or milk please!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND YA'LL!!! YEE-HAA!!!

Tuesday, May 8

Today I handed out the sheet for our Science project. It has both an written and artistic component to it. Please click on the link on the sidebar to get all the details. You are allowed to help your child with the project, but please keep in mind that this is a student project. We will be doing a majority of the research and writing in class.

Since we do not have any birthdays this month, we will celebrate our summer birthdays. If you want to take this opportunity to send a “birthday” treat for your child, they can do so any day this month. I will give them their small gift this month, a homework pass, so that they can use if they choose to.

Students are allowed to keep water bottles on their desks especially now that it is getting warmer, but they should be taking them home to wash each night. Summer uniforms are now allowed to be worn as well, but they should not be coming to school in their gym strip only!

Just a reminder that there is no school on May 18 due to Pro D and May 21 as it is Victoria Day.

**PLEASE CHECK your child's backpack for an important letter that went home today. **
