In all the chaos of today, I forgot to send home my parent letter! I apologize, it will be sent home tomorrow. I did send home a notice about the Back to School BBQ and an expectation package that the students and I discussed today. Please sign the expectation package and send it back to school.
Just a few reminders about tomorrow:
1. PE tomorrow-- wear your gym strip under your uniform, if it is too warm, we change into our uniforms after gym. Don't forget your running shoes
2. Early dismissal tomorrow-- 2pm
The classroom is a NUT FREE zone, due to allergies in the class. Thank you for your cooperation.

WELCOME
Here we are! A new school year! When I was a student from elementary all the way through university, this was always my favourite time of the year. I love the newness of it all: the books, the supplies, the topics, backpack, shoes... all of it! As a teacher, I look forward to getting my classroom ready for a new batch of students. I still get excited about new supplies (and new shoes!) As I've already taught most of your children, in Kindergarten, I look forward to getting to know them again and to see how they have grown since then. Please ensure that you subscribe to this blog via email to keep in touch. I will try my best to update all the lists and schedules by the end of the week.
Today, your child will be bringing home a short letter with some important information, as well as an information package to students. Please go over the information package with them, sign and RETURN it to the classroom. Another copy will be given to you, which you can keep, on Meet the Staff Night (September 10).
LABEL!!! LABEL!!! LABEL!!!
Please don't forget to LABEL everything that is sent to school that you would like back... uniform pieces, jackets, shoes, bags, lunch bags, water bottles, food containers, etc! I know it's time consuming to do so, but you will save yourself time, money and grief if you LABEL it all! Parent Volunteers
If you need to fulfill parent hours, please email me and let me know. I will be more than willing to send work home for parents to do.
PLANNERS
I do blog homework for the first half of the year, until students get in the habit of using their planners properly (this is a learning outcome in Grade Three!) Please sign the planners EVERY DAY even if your child has completed all the work at school. Students want to earn their Fonseca Bucks and having planners signed is part of the homework check. THANKS!PLANNERS
I look forward to a fun and busy school year! Please come and check us out the classroom (in the room formerly known as the Library)!

June 20: FOUR MORE DAY!!!
WOW! I can't believe we are at the end of our year together! I know we still have four more days left... and I can hear a sigh of relief from parents! (It is relief right?) Just a few reminders about the next couple of days:
- FRIDAY: Step Up Day -- Students will be meeting both Miss Losito and Miss Kranabetter for an hour.
- MONDAY: Meeting our penpals from St. Bernadette. They will be arriving at the school at 10:30 for a few activities at CCS.
-- We will leave for Cloverdale Athletic Park at 12:00 and return by 2:30.
--If you are walking with us, please be at the school by11:50am. We will bring our lunches and eat at the park. Please ensure that your child has a towel and change of clothes.
--Grade 3F students are allowed to wear regular clothes to school that day.
--I am also asking that our students bring some snacks to share with the group (Fruits, Veggies, Chips, Treats). Please email me or write a note in your child's planner so I know what to expect!
- TUESDAY: A FREE lunch will be provided for our class. I took your child's order today for a hot dog, chips and juice. Please ensure that they have a snack.
- WEDNESDAY: LAST DAY! EARLY DISMISSAL AT 12:00 PM.

June 5: Field Trip Reminders
Our most awaited trip to the Vancouver Zoo is almost here!
Here are a few things to remember:
- We leave the school at 9am on Friday morning, so please be at school at the regular time and do not be late! If the class has left already, please check in at the office.
- We are going rain or shine, so please be prepared for the weather. They are predicting showers on Friday and we will be outdoors all day! Rain boots and umbrellas may come in handy. Pray for sunshine! Or at least just clouds!
- Students are to wear a FULL uniform, that includes their red vests or sweaters. Please make sure that all the clothing are labelled (including any boots, umbrellas, etc. that they are bringing.)
- Send a disposable bagged lunch. That means it should be in bags and containers that can be thrown out. Students are NOT allowed to purchase lunch due to allergies in the classes. PARENTS WHO ARE JOINING US, PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FOOD FOR YOUR GROUPS.
-There is a gift shop at the Zoo, students are allowed to bring along some money, but they are to be responsible for the amount they bring.
We are looking forward to the trip! Thank you for helping us keep all the kids safe :)
